WHEN THE WORLD BEGAN (2009)
I hit the ground
And staggered back to my feet
Cautiously
Looking around
At my romantic defeat
And it turned
Cold as the sun
Shivering in the snow
I shrugged its over and done
How was I to know
You were round the corner
Did the planet shake like this
WHEN THE WORLD BEGAN
Was there Eden in your kiss
WHEN THE WORLD BEGAN
I dont need to hear a scientists advice
Now Ive had a tantalizing glimpse of (this) paradise
Girl, I feel like the original man
WHEN THE WORLD BEGAN
You held my breath
Until the stars filled my eyes
Shimmering
And with a fresh
Perspective I realized
That we burned
Hot as the moon
Curved like a new-bent bow
I thought that I was immune
How was I to know
Life was starting over
Did the planet shake like this
WHEN THE WORLD BEGAN
Was there Eden in your kiss
WHEN THE WORLD BEGAN
I dont need to hear a scientists advice
Now Ive had a tantalizing glimpse of paradise
Girl, I feel like the original man
WHEN THE WORLD BEGAN
(musical break -- 10 bars)
Come into the garden
Come welcome tomorrow
Come into the garden
Come welcome tomorrow
Did the planet shake like this
WHEN THE WORLD BEGAN
Was there Eden in your kiss
WHEN THE WORLD BEGAN
I dont need to hear a scientists advice
Now Ive had a tantalizing glimpse of paradise
Girl, I feel like the original man

Sometime after I won the 2008 ISC, I was contacted by a composer in Europe who had some tracks and wanted me to write some lyrics.
Its hard to write lyrics to pre-existing tracks but I gave it my best.
Nothing satisfied him and we never completed a song. I kept asking for more guidance as to what he was looking for, but he wanted me to just intuit it.
I wrote at least two version of the original track title, "I Remember You" -- that lyric is posted.
I rewrote the same musical track two more times as "Love I Know" and "Broken Glass". All these lyrics are posted if you want to see me trying and trying to figure out what he really wanted.
