VANTAGE POINT (2008)

Staring at the pretty pictures
Always looking reflective
Changing your position
With the shifting perspectives
Every thought struck dumb with a comma
Lost in the panorama

And with every changing angle
And with every sip of wine
Your epiphanies surround you
Weaving pattern and design
Settling in to your indecision
No peripheral vision

From your
Vantage Point
On the other hand
I don’t know where you stand
Vantage Point
Where do you stand?

When I catch your gaze obliquely
You wound me with a smile
I’m a afterschool mosiac
Ruined by a missing tile
You’re a work of art, arms akimbo
Leaving me in limbo

From your
Vantage Point
On the other hand
I don’t know where you stand
Vantage Point
Where do you stand?

Landscapes change
Horizons receding
Certain angles
Are misleading

From your
Vantage Point
On the other hand
I don’t know where you stand
Vantage Point
Where do you stand?

This was written to pitch to an established artist who was looking for "poetic" lyrics that went in less-frequently travelled directions.

It’s an urban setting, in an art gallery. Ian Ferrin had a nice pop take on the lyric.

Ian is doing the vocals as well as the rest of the arrangements.
