NONE SO BLIND (2007)
(1)
Sure we walk, side by side
A space between our foolish hands
An inch that feels a mile wide
We walk right by our promised lands
Natures beauty fills our eyes
But we dont stop to recognize
There are none so blind as those who will not see
None so blind as you and me
(2)
Now we stop, not a word
A silence on our foolish lips
A quiet that is barely stirred
Our powers of speech in full eclipse
Natures beauty fills the air
But we dont even know its there
There are none so blind as those who will not see
None so blind as you and me
(3)
Now we part, walk away
A curse upon our foolish hearts
A wind that blows us far astray
Like sailors lost without their charts
Natures beauty paints the sky
But we just watch the world go by
There are none so blind as those who will not see
None so blind as you and me

Written for a Ray Charles-ish melody, but the lyric wasnt used. Ian Ferrin took it to a whole different genre.
Very much inspired by "You Dont Know Me" in terms of the storyline -- that and the scene in the woods between Varenka and Sergey Ivanovitch in "Anna Karenina." Two people who should be together, and who are just not noticing.
