(AND THE) WIND BLOWS ON (1995)

A darkening sky
A thunderous quake
I watch and I wait for the heavens to break

The lightning illumines the room
The voice of the gale drowns my own
Outside it’s as cold as a tomb
And as dry as a bone
And the wind blows….
And the wind blows on….

And I smirk and remember your fear
You are trembling wherever you are
I lie breathless the better to hear
Your cries from afar
And the wind blows….
And the wind blows on….

I wait for the rain
That I know is coming
Wait for the storm
That I know is nigh
To whom do you cling?
With whom do you cry?

And the rain I’ve been waiting to view
Unexpectedly fall from my eyes
My tempest comes raging anew
In your beautiful guise
And the wind blows….
And the wind blows on…
